Bloomberg Businessweek Validates Our Prediction about EVs

One of our top 5 predictions for 2023 was: there’d be a soft backlash to EVs. Our insight was that the popularity of EVs grew, the media would start paying more attention, and that they would realize our infrastructure isn’t ready yet. The US has ambitious goals but there’s much more work to be done to scale ownership of EVs.
In case you didn’t see it, Bloomberg just recently wrote about that here: “Electric Vehicles Can’t Solve Climate Change.” The commentary says, “For this policy (transitioning from gas-powered cars), the government will have to get a lot of other things right.” Which was our point, too, back in January.
Just to be clear, we’re not skeptical about EVs, and neither in Bloomberg Businessweek. It’s just that there’s a lot that has to be put into place, including infrastructure for roads and our electrical grid.
The article also makes this important point: “Fighting climate change requires a comprehensive and coherent strategy. EVs are part of the answer, but only part. Much hard work remains to be done.”
